We will announce our choices in early April. Our considerations include, but are not limited to these questions: What residencies have the students experienced in past years (see years past)? How relevant is the proposal to the curriculum? Is there an opportunity for collaboration with other organizations or artists? Is there a possibility for professional development for teachers?
We plan one residency for each grade K-5. Each resident artist will visit every classroom (9-11 total classrooms per grade) in 3 different schools: Coffin, Harriet Beecher Stowe and St John's Catholic School .
Please see our links 2008/2009, 2009/2010 and 2011/2012 for examples of residencies that have been presented in the past few years. For an idea of numbers of classrooms and class sizes for each grade, please click here. St John's Catholic school has one classroom for each grade except kindergarten which has two classrooms. Class size varies from 15-21 students.
Send a resume and full description of your proposed workshop: including which grade(s) you prefer to work with, dates you are available, how many visits you'd like to make to each classroom and the duration of each visit, fee requirements, any opportunities for professional development training for teachers, materials budget, references if available, photos, and any other information you'd like us to have.
Please submit to email@example.com or send to PO Box 882, Brunswick, ME 04011. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 725 1232 If you submit materials that you would like sent back, please enclose a self addressed, postage paid envelope. We look forward to hearing from you.
