
2nd Annual 10
X 10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale
The artwork of
Kimberly Christensen has been chosen to represent the 2nd Annual 10
X 10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale. “Circles,” a brightly colored, hand
embroidered piece with complex textures, will be used on all promotional
materials for the upcoming event.
Since 2006,
Kimberly Christensen has been working as an artist at Spindleworks in
Brunswick. She works in many mediums including clay, drawing and weaving.
Christensen, originally from New York, currently resides in Albion, Maine.
“Circles” is one of
300 works of art by 130 participating artists from all over the state of Maine.
Art will be on exhibit for the entire month of October at all three venues on
Pleasant Street in Brunswick. Venues include Morrell Meeting Room in Curtis
Memorial Library at 23 Pleasant Street, Points of View Art Gallery in the
Brunswick Business Center at 18 Pleasant Street and Gallery Framing at 12
Pleasant Street.
All artwork will
sell for $200. The artist receives $100 and $100 benefits Arts Are Elementary,
a local nonprofit that provides artist-in-residence experiences to all
Brunswick students in grades one through five.
The 2nd
Annual 10 X 10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale opens with a reception on Friday,
October 9, running from 5pm-8pm to coincide with Brunswick’s Second Friday Art
Walk. It continues on Saturday, October 10, from 10am-2pm.
The 2nd
Annual 10 X 10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale is sponsored by Arts Are
Elementary and the artists of Points of View Art Gallery.
Event patrons
include Brunswick Business Center, Maine Arts Commission and Reed & Reed
Wind Power Services.
