FREE Summer Theater

Arts are Elementary is thrilled to announce that, through the generosity of an AAE supporter, this summer the nationally known and beloved MISSOULA CHILDREN’S THEATER is coming to Brunswick to produce BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE – and we need your help!

Students entering 1st through 12th grades are invited and encouraged to sign up to audition for one of the 60 ROLES in the play PLUS 4 ASSISTANT DIRECTOR positions that will be available to participants over age 12. Please join us for this UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY!
· Auditions will be held Monday, August 13th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crooker Theater at Brunswick High School. Please send in the attached slip if you wish to audition.
Please arrive on-time to the audition and plan to stay for the full two-hour session.
No preparation is necessary for the group audition – just bring a smile and be ready to have fun! The majority of the roles are designed for kids ages 7 to 12.
· Rehearsals will begin at 12:30 PM, directly after auditions and will be held thereafter from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Tuesday, August 14th through Friday, August 17th at Crooker Theater at BHS. Students may not need to attend every rehearsal – that will depend on their role in the musical. Those auditioning must have a clear schedule between 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM for the week of Monday, August 13th. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed following auditions.
· Students will need to bring a sack lunch to eat during their rehearsal break, 12:00 to 12:30 PM.
· The week will culminate in a dress rehearsal the morning of Saturday, August 18th and TWO PUBLIC PERFORMANCES on Saturday, August 18th – one at 3:00 PM and one at 5:30 PM.
Cast members will need to be available for the dress rehearsal and both performances.
