Art Creation: I love forest paths. We are blessed in Maine to have so many. Trees, left alone, are a living community, and being among them always refreshes my spirit.
I have explored a variety of forms and mediums over the past ten year as a part-time artist, and enjoy working in collage, drawing, and oil painting. I like the challenges of representational work as well as the delights of abstract composition, so my work is "mixed." But I have never seen any real contradiction between the two forms of expression. The urge to grapple with image-making is satisfied by both ways of working.
Artist Information: Alan Mast is a member of Points of View artists, a diverse group of greater Brunswick area artists who work together to foster an environment of mutual support, artistic development, and lifelong learning.
